Upcoming Changes to Market Cap Rankings and API for Rehypothecated Tokens

At CoinGecko, we are committed to providing the most independent and accurate cryptocurrency data. As the DeFi landscape evolves, our tracking methods must evolve with it.

We will be updating our ranking methodology for rehypothecated tokens (e.g., wrapped assets like WETH or liquid staking tokens like stETH) to prevent market cap double-counting, with effect from February 4, 2026.
